Careers, Communication and Confidence: the Keys to a Rich Life
"Thank you! I was beginning to despair. My son seemed to have 'switched off' and after attending the Savvy Teen Academy, he is like his old self - full of life. He LOVED the course."
#SavvyTeenAcademy prepares teenagers for a wonderful, flourishing future and helps them build the foundations of harmonious success.
Yes, they can have it all: excel at school and college, prepare to flourish at work, and maximise the fun of all their life experiences.
Watch your teenager blossom and come into their own.
"I cannot tell you how happy we are with our daughter's involvement with the SavvyTeenAcademy. It is doing my heart good to see her so happy and it is entirely because of the course."
What is #SavvyTeenAcademy?
#SavvyTeenAcademy iis a four day Summer Camp, Monday to Thursday, for teenagers about to enter 5th or 6th year.
Teenagers can have big dreams and aspirations, but can be at a loss where to start, or they can be too shy to go after what they want. They also have to juggle expectations from parents and teachers, a demanding study schedule, as well as navigating intense friendships and peer relationships.
At #SavvyTeenAcademy we offer a caring environment for turbo-charged, hands-on learning. It will be an intense week of transformation, with lots of fun and new friendships.
"I just wanted to say another big thank you for the great week. I can honestly say I have a different view of my future in the world and how I want to spend my life, also how important it is to know your value in the world."
After five days at SavvyTeenAcademy, students will be armed with a panoply of practical tools to use in many life situations:
- passing exams,
- applying for jobs,
- networking and confidently taking their life in the best direction.
What students will learn at #SavvyTeenAcademy
SavvyTeenAcademy is NOT a traditional course based on the school curriculum.
Students will learn and practice skills that are essential to academic and professional success, but aren't taught as such in school, such as:
- speaking confidently and persuasively in front of an audience
- studying smart, and not just hard
- making an excellent first impression in a professional or personal context
- overcoming shyness and coming across as respectful and confident in any conversation or exchange
- managing stress-inducing situations with poise and grace, without crumbling under pressure
- protecting themselves and coping in difficult situations requiring quick adaptation (moving out and starting college, coping with feelings of sadness or isolation, after a breakup for example)
Why #SavvyTeenAcademy?
Susan HayesCulleton and Monica Murphy are the founders of #SavvyTeenAcademy. They are passionate about life skills and people skills. They realised that they had to learn many of these on their own, sometimes through trial and error.
More and more companies emphasise these skills for hiring, promotion and leadership: Susan and Monica wanted to package their hard-earned wisdom and give today's teenagers a headstart in life.
After excelling at school and in college, Susan and Monica found jobs, created businesses and hired people. They have been both students and teachers, and they have been on both sides of the job interview conversation.
With the benefit of hindsight, they want to share with their students all the tips and tools that would have helped them when they were fifteen themselves!
